The logo of NCTT represents the basic idea of infusing instruction in critical and creative thinking skills into standard content instruction. The activity implied by the use of arrows is the intellectual activity of educators whose expertise in the classroom goes into designing and teaching good infusion lessons. And, indeed, that is the theme of the kind of staff-development provided by NCTT. We do not have a package of materials to sell, designed by others, and our staff development does not involve training teachers to use such materials, like so many other staff development programs do. Rather, we put our faith and trust in teachers. We train teachers to use their best abilities to design their own lessons for use in their own classrooms with their students. No one has better expertise in doing this than the teachers themselves. It is our job to stimulate the activity of blending the two arrows into an original, unified combination, an infusion lesson, created by the active intelligence of the teachers who will be teaching these lessons. We believe that our nearly 20 years of experience doing this backs up staff-development work of the highest quality.
